Post-Application Process

When it comes to screening potential candidates, Flipkart’s hiring committee is extremely thorough. The process varies depending on the internship profile. It generally consists of three rounds:

  • An online test
  • A technical round
  • An HR round

1. Online Test:

Flipkart conducts a 90-minute coding test for technical profiles to assess an applicant’s programming abilities. During the test, a thorough understanding of data structures such as hashing, binary trees, queues, and stacks comes in handy. Non-technical profiles are subjected to an aptitude test or a group discussion in which you will be asked questions about general awareness such as ‘Is social media good or bad?’ ‘, ‘Is India prepared to transition to a cashless economy? ‘, and ‘Discuss e-commerce problems in tier 2 and tier 3 areas.’

2. Interview rounds:

Technical internships: Here are a few Flipkart interview questions from the technical round:

1. Determine whether the binary tree given is a binary search tree. Examine various approaches.
2. Which method is the quickest for sorting an almost-sorted array?
3. What exactly is a hash table? Describe how the hash function and buckets work.
4. Find Pythagorean triplets in the given integer array.
5. Determine the closest palindrome number to the given number.

3. HR round:

Here are a few examples of questions:

1. What are your strong points and weak points?
2. Why did you apply for an internship at Flipkart?
3. What will you bring to Flipkart?
4. What obstacles did you face in your previous position(s), and how did you overcome them?

Flipkart Internship Expectations

While most Flipkart internships were virtual during the pandemic, Flipkart will be transitioning to a hybrid working model in the coming year, and interns may have the opportunity to experience an in-office internship.

The Flipkart interns, or Flinterns, are met at the airport and placed in a hotel for two weeks until they can arrange their own housing. The orientation day is planned in such a way that all Flinterns feel at ease. Interns take part in fun group activities and receive a goodie bag as well as a Flipkart T-shirt.

Flipkart has a non-hierarchical and informal work culture. Each Flintern is assigned a mentor and a buddy to help him learn the ropes. Because of this approach, the intern not only gains a comprehensive understanding of the operation but also absorbs the company’s culture. Flinterns are also free to choose their own projects and are given complete ownership of them. Flipkart has a stress-relieving area with video games, archery, bowling, air hockey, bunker rooms, and a well-stocked pantry.

Former Flinterns Tips

  •  Understand the Flipkart website and how its operations are structured. A comprehensive understanding of e-commerce would be beneficial.
  • Make sure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant experience. The hiring committee is interested in your projects and previous internship experience(s), so expect questions about them during the Flipkart interview.
  • Brush up on your coding skills if you’re applying for a technical internship. This website can be used to practice technical questions.
